Does any one know the history of the changes or improvements that Max has made in the last 7 years? I am wondering what you would have to do or modify to an older Max to make it as good as the new ones?

I found out the other day that the new 2001 models have a bearing instead of a bushing on the inside part of the axle. I cant believe it took that long to do that. |

Machines made since April, 1995 are very good machines. Don't have the time right now to list all the changes between 1995 and now, but bearings, holding brake, axles, sprockets, chain, throttle cable, rims, tracks and engines have all been upgraded. Old ones really can't be made as good as current models, but they can be kept as good (or better) as they were when they were new, by tending to things when they require it and doing preventative maintenance. |

Improvements since about 1995:
Solid splined axles
o-ring chain
inner bearings (replaced bushings) (~1997)
disk brake in front (replaced band brakes)
Stronger greasable bearing jackshafts
Bigger outer bearings
high speed clutch
k-rims
full rubber track
Max II upper body has changed along with square headlights on the II and IV. Both also have much bigger engines available. The IV has a lot more back seat room. New camo upper body color added as an option.

Thanks for all the input guys. Can a older Max be upgraded to solid heavy splined shafts, beefier bearings, sprockets and better inner bearings?
Any thing can be done, but would this be too much of a problem?
