Well, I went to my local Argo dealer to check out my options, price, size, capabilities, etc. It was a big mistake. My intention was to check out the 6x6 Frontier, but after checking out all the room and capacities of an 8x8, now I think I will need to wait till I can afford the Avenger, or at least the 8x8 Frontier. I had not seen the updated Argos before, and they are far superior to what I have seen in the past.

When talking with the dealer, he made a very good point, if you think you need the extra space of the 8x8, than wait and buy it when you can. Otherwise you will be enjoying your 6x6 wishing you had the 8x8. One thing for sure, my dogs will fit in the back of an 8x8, but not in the back of a 6x6. For those who are wondering, the dogs are for retrieving the waterfowl while hunting.

His statement, which I feel is probably true, is that people buy the 6x6, and than wish they had the 8x8, but no one buys the 8x8 and wishes they had a 6x6.

Anyway, now I have to rethink my financing and see if that 8x8 can become a reality for me. If not, than that 6x6 Frontier is the next best option.

There are three possibilities when making a purchase:

1. What you want
2. What you need
3. What you can afford

With any luck you can two out of three.

So, what exactly is the price of a new 700 Avenger? And say that I went with someone that was also going to buy one too at the same time, would that move that price down sufficiently? Might be something to look at, get hooked up with someone looking to buy, and throw 2 sales at once to the dealer, he makes money, you both get a better deal, and everyone walks away happy. Maybe if the dealer does not want to move down on the price, then maybe you can negotiate say 80% off on a roll bar and brush guard. I'd buy the winch at Cabelas or Bass Pro anyway.

My reasoning for staying towards the Avenger is that placement of the rear wheels that sit off the ground on flat surfaces which allows the unit to manuever more easliy, pivoting on mainly the 4 middle wheels. Unless of course you have it loaded w/ passengers and gear. This is what I've read, the innovation got extremely good reviews.

Hey Ed , you are starting to slide down a very long hill! Avenger-How could you not get the EFI?? Winch?--on an Argo you NEED the inside front winch support--probably not worth trying to fab. yourself---going to buy the winch installed?? can you really live without the wireless remote! Maybe go for the Rear mount/ front mount switchable option. It goes on my friend but they sure are fun. Happy shopping.

So I ought to go with the 750 EFI ? I'll have to wait and find a good used one then, because that is a bit pricey for me just yet. I can wait, patience is a virtue huh?
As for the winch, I'll take your advice and get it from the dealer, and have it installed.
