I just got back from a ride from Point Petre had a good time there was about 12 machines there even a FRONTIER on tracks!I got to see a MAX and thanks to W. P. COX got to drive it a little they are pretty cool machines in there own right. At the end of the day it didn't matter what machine it was as long as it was AMPHIBIOUS as the one and only QUAD will tell you;as his headlights sunk below the wake like the titanic on that frigid night. Titanic Quadnot even a week old

The Frontier looks awesome with those tracks. How did it perform? How many AATVs showed up?
An FYI to everyone posting pictures: When posting pictures, enter the picture on a separate line and leave an extra line between each picture entry. Some of our discussions are getting hard to read because multiple pictures are so wide.

BRANDON-not much of a test or snow for the tracks think it would of been better without the tracks for some of the water holes; That machine is fast and awesome from the new design of the tires the upper and lower body the motor the transmission, anybody looking for a quality NEW MILLENIUM DESIGNED 6x6 will not be dissapointed ;THERE IS NO BETTER!

Thanks for the pic posting info.

You know, I have yet to go out on the water. When I see these pictures I have to think I am missing something. Of course California not much for lakes(Tahoe excepted I guess). Around here I get a pond or two, maybe a surface acre at the most in size. So, I just go around them. But maybe I ought to go through them????

JOHN- you will be amazed at the abilities of these amphibious machines the water travel is slow but you will get where your going if you have big water crossings ARGO's can be fitted with a boat motor bracket and engines up to 9.9hp. or try an electric motor for a bit more speed all new ARGO's have some kind of charging system on them,if you sit in the back to drive the boat motor the ARGO will float almost perfectly level .Here,s a couple of pics of the bracket I made up using ARGO's motor mount but with the strength of the hitch and pin on capabilities when not needed.

I actually have an electric outboard I bought for the Van II and that same mount, never used either one. You sit in the back seat and not the front? How do you get out of the water? Can you just reach forward and use controls?

Actually I take back about never being in water. Once, when I had a Max II, I decided to see if they really went into water but I was pretty unsure, so I picked on this little pond, maybe 75' across. But first I took off my shoes and stuffed my wallet and keys inside, left them on the bank. Well, it made it alright, but I thought it wasn't much more than a tippy bathtub. When I pulled out the other side I went off for maybe 20 min of hillside riding.

When I returned, somebody was standing looking at my boots and the tracks into the water, I guess they figured it was a suicide.

I just got back from the the Eastern Sports & Outdoor show in Harrisburg Pa. There was an Argo dealer there and I was able to actually see my first Argo (I haven't been to a group ride yet)

I was very impressed with the quality of the machines especially the Frontier and the fully loaded Avenger. They seemed well thought out and engineered. I especially liked the sealed bearing flanges and the fact that they are greased from multiple locations for better reliability.

They had an Avenger with the rubber tracks which were very nice. Why don't they offer those on the Frontier?

On a side note I was somewhat put off by the sales person I spoke to. (I'll omit the dealers' name) He really didn't seem to be that interested in showing me the features of the machines. I incorrectly assumed that when I mentioned I owned an older Max and was considering upgrading in the future I would be his target sales demographic. Instead his interest in me seemed to wane immediately. This was especially disappointing because this dealer would be the closest to me.

I realize that those conventions can be tiring so I'm chalking it up to that. However when I do decide to buy a newer machine if they don't seem interested in me I'll vote with my feet.

Other than that overall I was very impressed with the Argo products

Mike

Mike, you are lucky to start off looking at the current models. A person who rode older model Argos wouldn't even recognize the Frontier and Avenger as Argos. They have always made a good quality product but in past years they were all slow and underpowered. Now that they have speed and performance in addition to quality they have the total package.
The Frontier does use the same 18" rubber track as the Avenger. In addition to that, the Frontier can also use the 13" plastic standard track (very inexpensive track option), or even the 18" plastic super track just like previous models. It is unfortunate you didn't get the service you are looking for but I would also assume that the show just had him overworked. Besides, you know the best source of info is Route 6x6!
