Hi. From argoatv.com... "The 2006 8x8 Argo Avenger is equipped with a 26 HP Kohler Aegis LH690 liquid-cooled engine and is now available with an optional 3.3 high ratio transmission for optimum performance with rubber tracks."

Question. Does the 2007 Argo Avenger EFI have the optional 3.3 high ratio transmission? Their web site may have said it did, or didn't, but I couldn't find it. Is the 3.3 high ratio transmission standard on the 2007 Argo Avenger EFI?

Thank you!

Kurt

Is the 3.3 actually geared lower for more torque to spin the tracks? How is it compared to the standard? Top speed of each?

I don't know the technical information, but I will just say that with tracks there is very little speed degradation. I am losing 2kph on the flats with the tracks on versus just tires. On the bigfoot and conquest, I was losing 40% of the speed.

Just thought I'd pass along a pic of the new Avenger EFI with rubber tracks running up the Loup River in the middle of Nebraska a couple of weeks ago. Just wish it would snow now!! You guys have a safe and wonderful New Years!!!

The local Argo Dealer gave me a copy of Argo's newest C.D. video. It is a great show. It features shorts and longer movies from Jim Shockey , Southern Outdoor Exposure and others. Great hunting shots. (Argo Hunting Adventures Vol. 2) Are others as impressed as I was? W. Philip Cox

Yep, it's the best DVD yet. Lots of good hunting and showing off just how useful the Argo really can be. We still have the same old problem though, getting it in a buyer's hands before they just go get a new Yamaha Rhino.
