There is a small box on the fire wall, contains 2resistor like terminals and 1 with a small fuse-like device. The fuse was corroded and is now broken.Had machine running well and all of asudden had no spark. When machine is turned over you can get a shock from spark wire but it will not spark the new plug. Points have been cleaned and set and appear in good shape.Possibly a coil problem?Or could it have something to do with the small fuse-like device in the box? Please help,Kent

HEY OGGIE64:
the small box that you mention is the voltage regulator........isnot suppose to be linked with the ignition system....if you feel some current on spark wire then you maybe has the follow limitation:

a) internal shorted spark plug
b) internal (partial) shorted ignition coil
c) not full contact on points

my recomendation are the follow:

1) replace with new spark plug
if this doesnot restore blue spark
2) double check point contact area
if this doesnot restore blue spark
3) replace with new 6v ignition coil

too bad you dident get a chance to looky in that lil box before you had this problem, so in adition to what isaac has sugested let me sugjest you also look for anything in wireing of your buggy that might have shorted, like poor ignition swich(actualy for grounding engine as kill swich,) but alsoo has lights function with a battery wire and starter selenoid wire as well,
if theres a short some place it might cercomvent the juce from your lighting coils, is there a plug some place to let you disconect your engine from rest of aatv wireing?
this will let you know if there was something wrong in your buggys wireing if engine operats ok with such plug disconected, engines are independently operable,
