Newbie to the fabrication/building realm, old hand in snowcats. I have owned several different tracked vehicles (snowcats) in my time for backcountry ski access. I have long considered building a custom lighter tracked vehicle based on AATV design. For somebody with no experience with AATV design, is building one attainable? I am certainly not mechanically inept. Just have never taken on such a project. Thanks in advance.

If your mechanically inclined and have tools
welder etc. I don't think it should be much of a
problem my biggest concern is the body since I
have very little wood working skills or tools for wood working for a mold for the HDPE body my dad may have to help me with that he has all the wood tools I need. I know a guy in Tennessee who does
vaccuum forming and has a machine probably big
enough to do the job once the wood work is done he will make a fiberglass copy for the vaccuum
forming process. Of course your body doesn't have to be HDPE.
