About how much dose a maxis cost. Will it handle good in a steep wooded place that is real muddy and has a lot of big logs with piles of rock and stumps sticking up. Also will it leave heavy tracks in a wet field or a yard? How steep can an object be like the edge of a pond or a big log befor the maxis just wont make it over. Is it a rough rider. Will the tires pop on rocks that are ridged. How big of angle can you drive it on befor it will tip sidways? how steep of hill can it go up. Can it handle in tight areas like a dense forest. Also can it go through brush like black berries and scochbroom that are tall and thick?

About how much dose a maxis cost. From $5990 and up unless you get a discounted price. Will it handle good in a steep wooded place that is real muddy and has a lot of big logs with piles of rock and stumps sticking up. Yes Also will it leave heavy tracks in a wet field or a yard? Only if you turn hard - straight away going hardly leaves a tread imprint How steep can an object be like the edge of a pond or a big log befor the maxis just wont make it over. Max will climb a two foot vertical and a 45 degree slope. Is it a rough rider. can be if you have too much air in the tires - inflated correctly, gives a very good ride Will the tires pop on rocks that are ridged. No, tires last for years if not turned on pavement or concrete How big of angle can you drive it on befor it will tip sidways? it takes some sort of a bump at in excess of 45 degrees (and with quick maneuvering, gassing the downhill side will turn the machine into the hill and prevent any rollover how steep of hill can it go up. 45 degrees Can it handle in tight areas like a dense forest. as long as all the trees are not in a straight line and less than 56" apart, nothing is better - the max turns so sharp and is so agile it will go through the thick stuff better than anything except a 2 wheeler Also can it go through brush like black berries and scochbroom that are tall and thick? Max will go through scrub bushes like it was flat land and the operator doesn't get beat to death

I'm sure Fred is talking about a Max but I don't know what "Maxis is the bomb" is. I assume it's a typo or something.

I assumed he meant Max II. Some people have trouble with the Roman numerals. Guess Maybe I answered the wrong questions!

I currently own a quad, but I'm expecting delivery of my Max next week. As I read all the discussion I must admit I remain skeptical. The quad that I own has 27" tires on all four corners, and a locking front differential. However it is no match in the mud for the massive Honda 450's that my friends own. Most are equipped with 27" tires just like mine. I've seen these four wheelers take on deep ruts and bad muck and just keep going. As I read all the entries above I find it hard to believe that a machine with 22" tires and 6" of ground clearance can take on these quads in the mud. I still can see the better qualities of the 6 wheeler. Guess I will see about the mud performance next week.

Michael, the operation of a Max is much different than a quad. Max relies completely on pure traction while the quad uses speed. One thing you have to remember is to not drive it like you drive your quad. You have to learn the technique of driving a skid steer. With the right driver, the Max is as close to unstoppable as a vehicle can get.
I would like to know what Max you got and with what engine. Is this a new machine?
