Hey guys, you remember the Argo Conquest 8x8 35th Anniversary Edition that was for sale on Ebay the last couple of weeks. Well, I got it. I was high bidder on the first auction and after it didn't sell on the second, I contacted the owner and we negotiated for another couple of days and it was delivered Friday. The unit is absolutely pristine. I'll have trouble keeping it that clean. We had 12" of snow since then. I took it out and was amazed at the performance. HEEE HAAA |

Ken, that is a great looking Conquest! I remember it on Ebay. I noticed that it has the snow blade for it. I want to improvise a blade for my Conquest. Could you measure the brackets that are attached to the front wheels and tell me the measurements including the thinkness of the metal used. That would be a help to me as a figure out what I'm doing. The machine is up at the cottage. I won't be getting there until next weekend. I'll get you the measurements then. |

Sorry Brian, I forgot to check the brackets. I had some mechanical trouble, probably connected with the machine only being run 10 hours in 4 years, so I was distracted with that. I'll be up again on the 23rd and promise to get the measurements for you then. BTW the Argo snow blade works great & is really solid |

Ken that will be fine. Are you running with the tracks on through some snow or what? My son and I are heading up to our cabin this weekend, looks like the mountains here have really been dumped on this week so we're excited to get up there. |

Thanks for the pics, Brian. I doubt my machine will ever be that clean again . I am running standard tracks. So far that seems enough. I was running in the bottom of some ditches and came across a place where a quad had obviously been stuck and had to be winched out. There was about 2 feet of snow with soft swamp underneath. The Argo with tracks went through like it was solid ground. |

Brian: The brackets ar 4"X12" & made of 1/4" stock. Here's a picture. Note the offset. I think it is to protect the flange.
Here's a shot of the plow
And finally the front of the machine
The plow assembly actually hangs from the assembly attached to the machine with one 3/4" bolt. The back portion of the plow (closest in the photo) rotates to 3 different positions to angle or straighten the plow and this is held in place with a hitch & lynch pin. The spring mechanism on the plow is important to relieve pressure. I found this out while plowing 2 feet of sopping wet snow this weekend. Hope you're enjoying your machine as much as I am. |

Ken, Great pictures, thanks for taking and sending them. I really needed the measurements so thanks for including that information. I think the offset (anyone who knows better correct me) of the brackets is so they don't hit the super tracks. I know my supertracks protrude quite a way in and if the bracket were strait it would be awlful close to the track if not hitting it outright.
Taking the family up to the cabin tomorrow and staying through New Years so we're excited about that. I'll have to post some pictures. We've recieved some new snow so I'm hoping that there is quite a bit of new stuff up there (about 7500 feet elevation).
