I was playing around yesterday looking for a new six wheeler and noticed that the Max website has been changed. The dealer locator now shows dealer inventory and prices. Looks like it is still in the works as not many have vehicles listed. New Hampshire dealer has them at some good prices. This is cool. I can shop online (well hopefully there will be more postings of dealers on there) before I get in my truck to see a dealer and make sure they have the model I am looking for. Check it out www.maxatvs.com.

has anyone noticed the fake picture on the max site. If you go into the gallery and go to the next page under the first pictures, their is one with a MAX and a dumpbox- look closer- the wheeles arent' even touching the ground the way they would if it were real- you can also see the layers in the picture.

The new site should help dealers quite a bit. I just received a letter from RI to fill out and they'll list my vehicles on the site. There are only a few vehicles listed since this letter was just set out a few days ago.
The idea came up because of that New Hampshire dealer. He has about eight '02 and '03 vehicles and can't sell them for some reason. I don't think his prices are that good. I've got '04 models that are basically the same price as his vehicles that are almost two years old.

I think Recreatives is finally making smart moves with their web site. Once they get their dealers to publish their inventory, they can post some more pictures of their machines to show off the frames and drivetrains that they use. There's no pictures of all different engine options or pictures to show the difference between solid axles/ hollow axles, O ring chain and standard, or all the pieces that make up a track kit. There site can be a lot more informational. Plus they can post factory specials and maybe dealers used machines ????

Maybe they don't have real rocks or difficult terrain in Buffalo while you're on a Buffalo??

Adding the dealer inventories to their web site is hardly even a token gesture at best! Recreatives Industries thinks and lives in the stone age with respect to how they view and deal with their dealership network. I would sum it up as a verbally friendly yet silently hostile relationship with respect to doing business.

You can barely call what they do and how they operate as a success story. Yes they have been around for a long time, however, they have really gone no where or grown their product brand name and business very well at all! Not sure why that is the case, only they can answer those questions!

It would be nice to see them stay around for another 30 years, and grow their products and business and brand name, however, that would be wishfull thinking at best.

Hahaha... If Recreatives went under, Argo would finally be the superior ATV. We sure wouldn't let that happen. RI is definately NOT in any trouble. Sales are lower across the board with all recreational vehicles. It's no where near as bad as the '80s, and RI made it through that one. Recreatives is making the best product they have ever put out right now. I think the improvements in vehicle quality and performance will take their business higher in the near future. If they are doing anything wrong, it's not showing the public how their new vehicles are better over the old.

Their website has recently been updated with many dealers posting their in-stock vehicles. They have finally realized the value of the internet as well as directing more customers to local dealers (something they are horrible at). It looks like they are putting some time into the site and I think it will pay off. I just mailed in my inventory info late last week and it's already posted.

Would be nice if max would utilize handle bar steering rather than ancient bulldozer steering they have now. Also specs of incline/grade it can handle data is missing. RI also is missing the boat on selling add-on accessories and merchandise.

posting the incline and grade does not make much sense from a business/lawsuit standpoint. Also, i would rather have complete independant control of each set of drive wheels. you can add a steering wheel if you want, but you would probably not like it.

budguy,ri dose sell exesorys, but they must pas there standerds, not many do,
but they do at least test things submited for testing,
i saw jay driveing a maxII at a humphrey event with a cool looking hard top,
it was given to them to test,
most recently they began offering that frount rack, as sean in recent posts here,
but theres not as much beond rollbars and tops or windshealds people commonly ask for.
most all else people actualy like to fab up for themselfes better.
thers nothing wrong with the laterel design in skid stears per say,
just argos,
it has to do with there particulerly dificult and inconsistant stearing,
this is why many diehards would egerly jump ship for the esyer stearing mode,
it is basicly the same trany if i have herd right, just more user friendly.
although i have discribed the t-20 as used in max vehicles as clunky and clumbsy, it was based on compareson with attex and amphicat units,
as the t-20 go's it is just fine as skid stear via laterrels, most folks have lernd by now what the specks are, you can find it on there video's and brochures or just call and ask, it's common knolage or so wede like to think after all this part of the tech, hasent chainged in 30 years,

It would be better for the aatv marketplace to have more compitition Then just max and argo. that way it would drive inovative idea's to the market place Just look at the light truck market In the 70's trucks were utilitarian only. A rubber floor mat was an option or a rear bumper and cloth bench seat was a luxury item and a automatic trans was unheard of.
Max and Argo overall body and concept as you said have not changed in thiry years. I love tried and true bullet proof stuff but the amphib marketplace should overhaul it self.If they want people to plunk down their hard earned money 10 grand is a lot when the only things changed from an old one to a new one is a 4 cycle engine 26 inch rawhide tires beadlock rims and double o-rings to keep tranny fluid from leaking out. The wing nuts to hold the top bonnet are just a sad almost homemade attempt to secure the top to the tub along with seats that look and feel like they were on a bus from the 70's. It would be nice if they had a discussion board on RI's website to sound off wants and needs of the customer.

Announcements / Max

Max Production Delays

by admin · April 22, 2017

We regret to announce further delays in the availability of Max ATV – the transfer of key assets between Muddox Inc. and Mxi has not yet been completed and there is now no prospect of commencing manufacture at our Grand Island facility during 2017.

Some Background.
◾Recreatives Industries Inc. originated the MAX brand in 1969 and was the owner until selling all MAX assets in late 2013.
◾Mudd-Ox Inc. was majority owner of the MAX brand and controlled production and sales from late 2013 until late 2016.
◾Ownership of the MAX brand and all associated assets was transferred from Mudd-Ox Inc. to Mxi in late 2016 as a result of a legal settlement.

Max – A Great Future. On a positive note, our preliminary design reviews of Max have been promising, the underlying design is simple but still fundamentally strong, which is why the basic vehicle has survived more that a decade of inattention and lack of investment. We were deeply concerned to find that there is no documentation relating to changes made in the last 3 years; a dark period in the product’s development history which we are still attempting to penetrate.

The Next Generation. Given the solid (though now somewhat frayed) legacy left by Recreatives Industries we have identified a route-map that will re-introduce Max as a competitive and desirable product with improved design and performance at lower cost. When we are eventually able to set this plan into action Max will re-emerge as a meaningful player in the ATV stage.

The Road Bump. We had expected to be well advanced in our preparations for manufacture of classic and future generation Max by now, unfortunately, despite months of negotiation we still await the transfer of key tooling and product information. We much regret therefore, that Max production remains on hold

I have faith, besides Big Enos and Little Enos will run out of other people's money sooner or later. That will take the Mudd-Ox down. Something will need to fill the gap.

And I bet they'll pay their vendors and suppliers on time and not try to build their company while ignoring their bills. What a concept.
