Anybody have any idea why I'm getting more power/pull on the right side vs the left. Tire pressure is equal and I have swapped sides driving it to compensate for weight. If I put both sticks forward the same amount, the HT will dog off to the left a lot; on land or water. There appears to be a linkage adjustment at the bottom of the sticks. Has anyone adjusted these for this kind of problem? Any other suggestions? Also, the temperature guage does not work. Any advise on how to trouble shoot that as well would be greatly appreciated. Love the machine but would like to get the buggs out. Thanks, Ron

Note: I just bought the unit used and it is the base model TJ625 with very low hours (the one listed in the classified section on this site.)

It sound like your linkage is out of adjustment.Depends on how they have their hydrostats. set up.Check and make sure linkage is all free and nothing is jammed in it.Gauge problem:take wire off sending unit if it's electric and ground out on case Gauge goes full hotsending unit IF not bad ground or gauge or no power to gauge.

Mine does that.I've adjusted the linkage where it meets the hydraulic pump as well as down at the bottom of those rods.I minimized it but it's still there.There came a point on mine where if I tweaked it any more the problem shifted over to the other stick so I finally quit messing with it and have gotten used to it.Minor problem.Don't know about the temperature gauge.The most likely culprit is usually the temperature sending unit screwed into the engine block.The heat tends to destroy them over time.Of course,I'm assuming that your cooling fluid level is right too.The sending unit can probably be ordered from the nearest engine dealership.

I do not have a Hydro Traxx, but my LTV KID is Hrdro-Static. and I have to adjust the two control cables for just that. I'm sure that is all it is. check your center prosition.

I have a new HydroTraxx 625 and it too pulled to the right. I wrote Brian at HydoTraxxonline.com and he told me to bend the stops at the bottom of the control levers slightly to dial it in. I did that and now the machine runs straight and true.
I am awed by the power of this beast and where it will go. I am also awed by how deep one can get buried. My son and I spent six hours winching and digging one winter day... should have had tracks. I'm very glad for the Superwinch 4500.
All in all the machine is great fun. I'm looking forward to exploring in this wild state of Idaho. Maxx, Argo, HydroTraxx. What great machines! I am enjoying finding out where I can and can't go and as experience grows I hope to take my six wheels, Chessy retreiver, and friends duck hunting in the nasty places only we 6 aor 8 wheelers can go
I've read some notes on this site "warning" of the heat created by these hydro machines. After hours of heavy use, my hydraulic temp gage barely gets off the peg, and I can rest my hands comfortably on the lines and hydraulic cooler. Heat doesn't seem to be a big problem with this rig.

I run 27 in. high lifter tires and go pretty much where I want. Tracks are the answer for most of the swamp running.They are better in the snow too. My pardner fell through the ice in a swamp the other day in his argo. He used my 4500 lb. wench to get himself out.Sometimes you will get stuck no matter what.I wasn't in town when he fell through, so he came and got my machine. We have that kind of brotherhood up here. The next time it probably will be me.
You will love that Hydro. What size engine did you get? I have had good luck with the 12 in. Tru-Tracks, but I wish they were wider. I have a hard time keeping up with the argo with the 18 in. tracks.
I have a heat gauge on my oil pump and I have yet to get it hot enough to hardly even register, even running in soft swamp.
Good swamping, and let me know if you need any more info.

I have the 27" tires on a TJ645 with the Nisson 4 cyl gas and 24ci hydaulic wheel motors.
We are friendly enough down here, but I don't think there is a brotherhood. I think I am an only child at this point. I'll probably get some tracks for next winter.
