I live in the U.P. 3 miles S/W of Ishpeming. My place is a great starting point. Also I have a large yard (campers and parking) and alot of acreage. I also have a large heated shop with tool, torches, welder, etc. Anyone interested? send me an e-mail. vmorcom@charter.net

Brad I would love to join you, but we are so far away, I am in West TN. Been riding around here and in Western KY at 1800 acres on the Mississippi river.
Lest keep each others email, maybe someday we can get together.

Sounds good Philip. I just threw the message out there to see if anyone was interested. I was hoping to set up a late winter ride so there is lots of snow but warmer for the people that dont have cabs. Like I said I live "out" Its a great area and I forgot to mention there are motels only a few miles away for those that dont have campers. Would be nice to set up an annual event

No takers? Wow!!! I thought I would get a couple takers. What a shame. I thought this website had some hardcore riders. Guess I was wrong.

Brad, I'm guessing you live in the upper penisula,Mi. Ride offer sounds great but you have to remember some folks don't live in that climate, some don't have winshields, tracks or enclosed cabs. Nobody is going with a non-tracked AATV just to find out the snow is too deep. The folks who do might not want to drive thru the snow belts of Canada, NY,OH & PA towing a trailer. I live in western NY and work all around the country people in states(TX,south Oh.,south Il.,etc.) that don't have "our" climate think we are nuts and can't imagine being able to survive thru the winter. Now a ride in northern Oh. would have some winter attendence being a 1/2 way point.Worked in your neck of the woods in the middle of january, lucked out with driving both ways but had to work 2 days in a ice storm. Thanks for the Invite.

Dennis, Thanks for the reply. Sorry sometimes we forget the fact not everyone is used to our kind of winters. Yes you are right about tracks. You have to have them, that is not an option. Also yes (Yah eh) I am from the upper peninsula. Sounds like you may be a Lineman, just a guess. Thanks

Brad, nope above ground tank, weld & mechanical inspector. Forgot the town I was in but never forget a tank, Midland asphalt co.Flipped the tracks on this week end and applied my '08' snomobile tags I'm ready. Had our first lake effect only 8'' not enough to issue a driving ban. Still had to be in central Oh. today, damn the bad luck, will run down to the Buffalo river/creek bed when I get home with the granson. Have fun this winter and don't bridge it between drifts.

Thanks Dennis. Winter is alot of fun (if you are ready and equiped for it). We dont have alot of snow yet, maybe 18" average where I live. I dont have much play time to enjoy it right now, I'm STILL building my house, hope to be living in it within a few months. Then I'll have some freetime. Take care.

Brad, I'm game if I can get time off from work. I don't have tracks but you can pull me when the snow is too deep. No one around here except for me seem to use their machines in the winter except for ice fishing and they are all over in MN..... Well, I spoke too soon. I checked my GPS and it indicates I am 366 miles SW of you in NW WI. Too far for a day drive for me. I was going to post a picture of my swamp ride in the winter but the upload attachment button is not working on this site. It's been a while since I was on this site, maybe we can't post pictures anymore?

When were you thinking of riding? I just got a line on a pair of AC snowmobiles that are very nice 35 yrs olds for sale in the UP that I am considering. They will be in the Keweenaw Peninsula some time after the holidays. That's what.. about 90 miles from you? Houghton-Hancock area? I would have to bring the big trailer to get them and the 6x6 back home though. Costly since the diesel is gone right now and I would have to pull with the gasser.

Argohunter. I could plan an early spring run so no one would need tracks, maybe we could get a couple more people to make the ride. I'm pretty flexible as to the date. we could make it work.

Brad, do our type of machines need to be registered to ride in MI. Here in WI we can't get them registered as ATV's. I can't ride trails here because of that reason so I stay on private lands. If I want to go into MN and ride their trails, I can't because MN requires theirs to be registered. MN also requires out of state machines to be registed so that leaves me out.

Not sure about registration's for out-of-state machines but I can look into it. The trails I ride on arent "DNR" designated trails and were not in any tpe of Park. The trails I run on from my house are on alot of CFA land, some private property, local utilities, etc. I Have never had any problems. I have lived in this area my entire life and I know the local trails and where you can and cant go so there would be no trouble.

Maybe you could check with your DNR on the registration for OOS machine if it's not too much trouble. I can't believe that out of all the MI owners listed in the state registry on this web site that no one has chimed in about the registration. Same goes for the same people and also the ones in Northern WI about riding together. Where have all the people gone? The discussion board is pretty slow and we don't hardly ever hear from the old timers very often.
