I still have not been to that place. I've heard there is not much challenging terrain for our amphibs, what is your opinion? This ride is short notice but I'd like to have a ride soon. I am getting a used Max II traded in this weekend. I might use it to do a few rides and St. Joe is about the last public place we have in Missouri.

It is by Farmington, MO It is an old mining area that is now a state park. Low price admission, wash rack, all off road machines welcome. There are a lot of families there with small kids on little quads and dirt bikes. It is easy terrain for an amphib, a flag and helmet is required.

Eddie, I have not heard of any other place to ride here in MO. The weather is perfect right now and I have a 20hp Max II to ride so let's get something going.

Brandon do you think they have eased up on the width thing at Deepwater? I think with all the side x side ATV's they need places to ride also.I also saw that Deepwater is open to dunebuggys,They are way wider than 50".The only other close places are Quincy and Hannibal there is also a place called Brushy ridge, but I havent been there.

We may be in luck with a good place to ride here in MO. I found a place south of the Ozarks at FlatNasty.net . It looks like they welcome all off road vehicles, including jeeps. I am going to call them tomorrow and get all the info on riding our vehicles there (lets not flood them with emails). There is another at Bricks4x4Farm.com that might be a good place. These seem to be privately owned parks so we don't have to worry about BS rules against our wide vehicles. I'll get some info on them and we can set up a ride here real soon before the weather turns cold. Deepwater has not changed their rules but I did have a guy that bought an Argo from me to ride there, said he had no problems. I wouldn't want to set up a ride there and have them turn us away. We'll just have to sit at the back of the bus like the second class ATV owners that we are.

Hi,

I just went to St. Joe's a couple weeks ago. Was also there in the spring. It isn't very challenging but it's a nice place to spend a day. And can ride your atv directly from the campground if you camp out. Some good mud holes (I managed to get stuck for the first time!) and the wash rack came in handy as we were covered with mud from head to toe, top to bottom and inside and out.

We were the only AATV there and got a lot of looks and questions. It was interesting that when we were splashing thru the mud folks in atv's would stop to watch and take pictures. Some really slick mud there, had a blast doing 360's.

I have some old Jeeps that I have taken on logging trail rides in the Mark Twain Forest area. Again, nothing really challenging but great scenery. There are (were?) two atv parks in the Mark twain forest but have not been to either. Might be worth looking into.

I live in the Wentzville area and am looking for folks in the St. Louis area to play AATV with.

Hi John, Thanks for the report on St. Joe. I'm located about 50 miles west of you on I-70. See the other topic I just started about our upcoming 6x6 ride at Flat Nasty off-road park on October 27. Maybe you can join us on that ride. The owners of Flat Nasty told me there is a rumor about St. Joe possibly closing, due to lead content in the sand. Just another reason to close an ATV park. Hopefully it won't come true.
