JUST A HEADS UP TO OTHER CANADIANS FROM ONTARIO -THIS IS A WORLD CLASS EVENT -COPPER RIDGE TRAILS -OLEAN N.Y.
I WENT LAST YEAR FOR MY FIRST TIME.I DIDN,T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. MY WIFE AND I LOVED IT! GREAT PEOPLE -LOTS OF FAMILIES-VERY CHALLENGING TRAILS-MORE ARGOS MAXES ATTEXES EVEN A RIM AND A TERRA TIGER THAN I HAD EVER SEEN BEFORE. We stayed in a motel in Olean,so did lots of other people, but most people camped in trailers, tents winnebagos etc. It,s about 70 MILES from
Buffalo.Think about it. Check the listing on 6x6
Home page. If you need a motel you cannot book too early. This is a busy tourist area. I would
be happy to see some other CANADIAN aatvers there!W. PHILIP

Philip is 100% right. Copper Ridge is an absolutely great place to ride with miles and miles of trails, lots of topography, and very conveniently located for riders in NY, PA, OH and southern Ontario. I too hope that many of our northern neighbors can make it down this July. It's a solid 3-day event with enough trails to use all of that time exploring. I didn't have the chance to go on the night ride, but those that did were gone for several hours. It was great sitting back in the pits and hearing the roar of 30 ATVs coming down out of the woods at 10-11 PM. Let's get the message out early and keep reminding people about this run so that this year's turn out is even better. July is only 4 months away!

~mike

We were at last year's Copper Ridge ride & had a great time & are planning on attending this weekend, but are concerned about the lack of conversation about the whole event. Is it still happening? Are people still planning on being there? Oddly enough, we had no difficulty booking a hotel this year, & that was only a few weeks ago, last year, we booked months ahead & had to call about 8 places before we found one. What's up?

there are always first timers at the northeast trail riders jamboree's but one reson for the lack of conversation is this:
it is just understood everyone is planning to atend! everyone is expected!
everyone will have a great time!
a hefty percentage of first timers soon join the ranks of diehards!
you may wonder if the hurecane remnence will hurt the attendence this year, i don't think so,
this area has often rain storms wich work to keep dust down and mud available for our entertainment,
and after all isent that what we all dream of?
last year i beleave there was some other sort of event going on in the region that was responsable for the dificulty finding rooms.
and i think more people might be planning to stay at coperridge,
the world class service of there snackbar alone could convert the would be hotel stayers into campers!
if your worried about being alone you needent be,
i can garentee right now that tim schotanus (mudbuster from this board) tim okeefe and his friend staycy,
mike abbey and dave yoder, myself and george brenton, will be there.
we will see you there!

I'll be there with 3 machines this time. Old red Max IV , Attex 400 chief and a bright green Sperry Rand Wedge. Any other vintage plastic going to be there?

Thanks to all for the replies. We were minorly concerned about a poor turnout, now we feel better. Unfortunately, we only have the trailering ability to bring 1 machine, which is a Max IV, but it's rather smartly decked out & the whole family of 4 will be there looking for some good riding.

Bill-BLUE KNIGHT--I hope you are coming and park near me because if I need anything You have it! Hope to see you all Friday. Tory G. did you come up with anything new to increase your water speed? I am drilling the last holes in my newest untried invention at this moment--The Quanset Hut is really hot to work in and it's probably going to be a supreme failure but hey if you don't try you won't know -right? The Jamboree should be a great time again this year. I rode there a few weeks ago and Greg has had loggers working and you all know what that means, better trails!! Weather forecast is perfect, I look forward to seeing folks that I only see once a year.

I don't think the turn out was as good this year as it was last year. I had a great time. A few technical issues as expected, but I did get alot of stick time in. I'm hoping for more vintage machines next year. Even if they are not perfect, there are some trails close to camp to try them out.
There was a guy there who lost a master link on his Max at the top of the hill, within 5 minutes of telling us he had a problem, he had a master link in hand, enough tools to get the job done and the knowledge to get it done.
That's the beauty of a large group of people, you will not be stranded or left behind.
It cost $45 for the whole weekend including a great chicken dinner. You can't complain about the price.

i did get to ride last night over in mishawaka,i am wiring a new house over there an there is a woods in back, its been storming every afternoon so i filled the gas tank and headed out into the woods.did a little hill climbing the torque of the four stroke sure didnt disapoint me.the weeds where 7 foot tall at the edge of the woods, wte and dripping but i was getting to ride so i didnt care,i went east untill i hit a corn feild the went north to dragoon trail that was about 1 mile this was just woods no trail so had to reverse course several times to avoid hi center hazards cut off trees and falling timber ocasionaly a big rock, this was no speed run manuvering was the order of the day in this woods.the roll bar snagged a few limbs into my head and back i was having fun, well after an hour of this i had had enough and i could tell what the weather was doing it was dark in the woods,so i headed south back to the house and my truck camper ,i could just see the house thru the woods i saw somthing on the ground maybe a 2inch stump oh hell i can clear that, suddingly i cam to a stopped and the starcraft swung into a tree,i was hi centered,o.k. so i got on the front sat on the nose of the machine pulled the latterals gave it gas rocked back and forth ,to no avail, put it in reverse still no good, well this must be the reason i put the winch on,so i hooked on to a 3inch tree at the base [dam near pulled it down] but i was free ,you know this was the only part of the woods with a rather aggresive growth of nedles and any one who knows me knows i was barefoot and shorts.man those things where up to my knees, cant wait till tommarrow i will do it again.

An excellent ride. Lots of mud and plenty of hills. The chicken dinner was great, so much that I couldn't even finish mine. Same time same place next year everybody, you can't beat it for $45 for the whole weekend. It is a great place to kick the tires of different machines too.

Also , tent camping on site is free. It was really nice to sleep in the peace and quiet, especially since there was nobody running a generator next to me :-)

Wow! A friday night ride that lasted until 1AM,a new water crossing pit in the rodeo,a monster rainstorm that turned the trails to soup on saturday. This surely was the best Jamboree ever for me. Why I even won a trophy in the Rodeo! This event gets better every year. Thanks to our host Greg and everyone at Copper Ridge for a terrific weekend.
