The Annual Deepwater ride will be on April 2 & 3. We will ride on Saturday starting around 9:00am and will ride off and on until around 6:00pm. Then we will have dinner and meet back up there around 7:00pm or 7:30pm for the night ride. Night ride will end ?. Depending on when the night ride ends will determind when we start riding again on Sunday, usually around 10:00am. Any questions on ride, please contact me @ hustler1990@netscape.net.

It's been a long time since we've rode at Deepwater. I want to make several rides this year as long as I've got a good vehicle to ride. Good used amphibs are hard to come by now days and they are bringing top dollar. The only used vehicle I have now is a Kawasaki Mule that someone traded in for a new Max, and that vehicle won't quite cut it at Deepwater. Just this past week I sold a Max II to a man near Clinton, MO that has rode quads at Deepwater before. He'll probably make some 6x6 rides so we can show him what that Max can do.

Brandon, what did you do with the used Max IV that you had on hand just recently? Did you sell it or something?

Yeah Bigwolf, I sold that Max IV not long after I got it. It went to a man who probably lived not far from you in Battle Creek, Michigan. I try to pick up all the used vehicles that I can get a good deal on, but those have been few and far between. It must be time to ride as I just sold two new Maxs last week. Everyone has something to ride except me. Oh well, I know Troy has an extra Max and he won't let me down.

Yes I do Brandon, but the question is will you ride is in a safely matter and have it still looking like new other then some mud? I doubt it. You need to just break down and buy a new Max for you. Ride it for a year and then sell it.

Hey, it's great to be able to post pics. Thanks Richard and crew.

Hello Mike Martindale, you old kodger. Here's Mike coming out of a hole. He's looking at a small bag that fell into the soup. Nothing important, just his video carera!

I'll see all of you at Deepwater.

Yesterday I picked up a 1991 Max IV. It is a little rough around the edges right now but it's a good running machine. It has 26" tires, a cheap winch, and a 20hp Kohler Magnum. I'm going to clean it up within the next two weeks. I'll bring it to Deepwater if it is reliable enough to leave the parking lot. After the ride I plan to tear it all apart (if that doesn't happen during the ride) and restore it.
That leaves me a .00005% chance of making the Deepwater ride. WooHoo!

Great to see all the action about the Deepwater ride. I am scheduled to attend the Kansas hunters safety program with my son Zachary on the 2nd and 3rd. I sure hate to miss the ride but we have been signed up for this since January and need to get it done before spring Turkey season. Have a great time! Don Millington

It looks like I'll be able to make the Deepwater ride this time. I have my Max in pieces right now so I can fix all the potential problems. Everything looks real good and unless I need some unexpected parts, I should be there. I'll make a few phone calls next week and try to round up more Maxers.
My Max IV has iron all the way around it with a nice bumper on the front and has been nicknamed "The Devastator". I hope Deepwater is ready for me. It's going to look like a D9 Cat went through there.

Dan, good to hear you will be there. This has been an annual ride I have put on for I think, 9 years. I try to have a ride there @ Deepwater 2 or 3 times a year. You will have fun riding with us.

Hey Mike, I don't know when I will be getting there. I most likely will be going to a hockey game Friday night so I will either leave after that, about 10:00pm or just wait and leave early Sat morning. If I leave Friday night, I will stop by and wake up everyone when I show up. I haven't made up my mine if I will be staying at a hotel or not. I do plan on doing some fishing Sat morning though.

Don, sorry to hear you not making it this time.

Here is the weather report for Deepwater this weekend. Its going to be nice.

Saturday (24 hours) : Sunny. Highs in the upper 60s and lows in the low 40s.

Sunday (24 hours) : Partly cloudy. Highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s.

Oh yea, there is a chance of rain today and tomorrow so I am sure there will be lots of mud to play in.

Hey Hustler, is there a way to straighten out a bent axle on the front of my avenger while its still mounted, it has about an inch travel (wobble) from left to right. Any thoughts I called Don Millington and the axles are cheap but he's quite far from me.

Dan, It is possible to get that axle a little straiter while on the vehicle. I would only attempt it if you wanted it better for the ride this weekend, then replace it. Remove the tire and use a floor jack under the hub. Use a good board, or heavy piece of steel, and run it under the jack and under the opposite side tire. Wrap a chain around that board and around the bent axle, near the bearing. Have the bend in the correct location so the jack can push it up and straiten it. I've also seen it done by anchoring the bearing end of the axle with a chain running to the rear of the vehicle. Tie that off to an unmovable object. Use a heavy come-a-long near the hub with the other end tied off solid. Get the bend in the right spot and start cranking on the come a long. Just don't totally destroy something before the big ride!
Hope you can get it straitened enough to make the ride. My Max is looking for a fresh kill.

Yes, maybe. If you can put a strap around the axle and with a winch or something else pull the axle until its straight. Of course, you need to have the Avenger tide down so it don't move also. Now it seems easier then then how it sounds, but it really isn't that hard. I have done it more then once on a ride when someone bent their axle. This may or maynot get it perfect. Most likely not perfect, but might work. Its always better to just fix it then patch it. Hope this helps.

I had fun. Good to see Brandon driving again. I think he and Troy had a nice riding reunion in their IV's. Let's do another weekend up there before it gets hot..

Mike, I'm surprised that last climb we clawed and scratched our way up was so taxing on you.
After the last couple trips to Haspin being so slick and greasy, it was fun to have traction for the steep stuff.
