Hello all!!
As some of you may have noticed I tend to be a little long winded.....so bear with me.....I was wondering.....I know that during restoration of machines, a lot of conversion has gone on from 2-stroke to 4-stroke and vice versa...and from 10HP to 25 HP etc..... but has anyone here ever swapped in an ATV engine into an machine in place of a Briggs...(insert favorite engine here)??? After having a few problems with obtaining or rebuilding a reliable engine for my older MAX II, I am seriously considering using the engine from one of my Honda 3-wheelers to power the MAX. I have available a 185cc, a 200cc, and a 250cc. All 4-stroke motors. There is nothing wrong with engines....they're simply in a frame that is now unsuitable to my riding style.........yes, I know that 3-wheelers themselves aren't dangerous.......it's idiots letting 85lb kids ride 350lb (inherently unstable) machines that have given them a bad name (don't get me started on taking responsailty for your own actions)....but...I've simply grown tired of throwing my (ever growing :) ) weight around on them to have fun..... (I now prefer 4-wheels or 6!!!!!)... So back to the question..... with say, 250cc and 5 gears....semi-auto clutch.... it seems to me that this might make a decent engine for my MAX. I realize there is a lot of mods to be made to make an engine like this fit and work..... but hey...time and a welder I got!! Anyone ever done this? And if so.....how did it turn out? Comments? Questions? Suggestions?

Thanks for you time!!

DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT!
AND FORGET THA DAM BELT DRIVE! PUT A SPROKET ON THE INPUT SHAFT! LETS FIND OUT HOW A MAX WORKS WITH THE CLUTCH ON THE LEFT LATEREL,
AND YOU CAN FIGURE OUT SOME KIND OF SHIFTING SYSTEM FOR YOUR GEAR RAINGES, YOU MAY NEED TO BUILD IN AN ALTERNATER THOUGH AS YOU MAY NEED A BIG OL FAN FER COOLIN,
THE BEST OF LUCK TO YOU MY FRIEND AS I REALY WOULD LIKE TO TRY THIS MYSELF BUT HAVENT THE $$$$$$
