Hey folks. I am the proud new owner of an amphicat in fair condition. This is the first of many posts...where on the machine can I find a serial number to identify model/year?

With the help of a gifted mechanic we have the sachs (I think) single running fairly well, tranny looks like it is functioning properly.

New chains cables and fuel lines and tires are on order...wanted to convert to 4 stroke but didnt look like there would be adequate room...

any pointers for a newbie?

thanks

Steve welcome to the sport, I suggest you ask all the questions you want.

I hope you have bought the correct amphibious tires, there is room for a 4 cycle engine, provided you buy the correct conversion parts.

Best place to buy parts is Richardsrelics.com

I have a Amphicat with a 14 Briggs Vanguard engine, works great, at times it even seems to be better than my Argo bigfoot, as the amphicat weighs so little and goes off road so good. It weighs around 400lbs, so it goes like a bat out of hell. Ryan Singer
