Soon, I will be going to look at a Roughrider 6x6 (as advertized in the local paper). Could anyone please offer any "areas of interest" I should carefully inspect with this machine? I am more familiar with Argo's (worked at the plant AND once owned a rare SS 440 model).
The fella says it is mechanically good, and is asking $1,400 (which I feel is a pretty good deal).
Any info would be helpfull, thnks. (Note: He has manuals... if I purchase, I will scan and post)

I had a Rough Rider just a few weeks ago. Mine was in great cosmetic condition. All mechanics were also good but it hadn't run in years and needed a tune up. I sold it on eBay for $961.
I think it is more of a 'collector' and just something to play around with for those who like to tinker with toys in the garage. I can't see it ever being tough enough or reliable for any real work or trail riding. The chains are small and the frame is nothing more than a little strip of metal. It has no reverse and no real tranmission for that matter. It just depends on what you are looking to do with the machine. |
