I noticed the new max II and argos enclose the engine area and use a duct system with the Kohler motor to bring in the needed air. If the compartment is enclosed, putting sound proofing material inside will GREATLY help reduce the noise a Max 4 seems to generate. My obvious concern is heat build up in the comparment. I assume the hottest part in the system is the muffler. Any thoughts?

Jim I have been thinking about this myself. First you must get the hot air out and you should run it past the muffler on the way out. If I was doing it I would install an Oil Cooler in front of the motor fan, and draw about half of the cool air from the inside of the Max engine compartment, this will keep the heat from building up on the inside (Transmission). I would use a sound proofing material that will not suck up oil and water. You could glue it on in small cut panels. You also need a sound wall between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment and another just off the floor and above the chains. Good luck sounds like a lot of work.
