I need some help. about 4 months ago the bolt that holds the driven pulley on (the large pulley) broke of inside. I took it to the dealer and he fixed it. it cost about $300. He said that it is very rare for that to happen. well today it broke again. i have about 150 total hours on the machine. and about 20 since i had it fixed. this is very disapointing. this doesn't seem like it should be a weak point. does anyone have any idea as to what is going on. I really don't trust this thing anymore. i don't know what i would have done if i were deep in the woods and this happen. also the track system doesn't seem to be very stable either. my tires are being chewed up like crazy on the sides. and they seem very fragile when it comes to coming off the wheels.

Sounds like a vibration problem to me. Harmonics can break lots of things. I would look for a bent or out of balance part.

My old Hustler had the same problem..someone that had the machine broke off the bolt, tryed to drill and tap the shaft but made a mess of that (broke the tap off inside) He managed to get some threads on the end but it tore the threads out the first time I tightened it. I drilled the hole in the end of the shaft out the 7/16 inch and had a grade 8 bolt welded into the hole with the threads out. Make sure that the pulley fits tight and the key fits tight in the keyway or no bolt will hold..
