I JUST MADE MY OWN EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR MY BIGFOOT. I AM HAVING TROUBLE GETTING THE MANIFOLDS BACK ON THE HEADS. THEY ARE NOT LINING UP PROPERLY. I HAVE A 1.5" PIPE COMING OFF EACH HEAD AND MERGING INTO ONE AND THEN INTO A SUPERTRAPP SILENCER. I BOUGHT A WIRE FED WELDER FROM WALMART AND MADE IT MYSELF. I TACK WELDED THE WHOLE THING IN PLACE AND THEN TOOK IT OFF TO FINISH THE WELDS, AND IT WONT LINE UP EXACTLY WHEN I TRIED TO BOLT IT BACK ON.

HEY TIM:

aparently you put "to much heat" on the welding and/or welding rod make distostion....now you have the follow choice:

a) to torch the exaust so you can bend until you get proper aligment or
b) to cut one pipe next to exaust port flange and then to secure TIGHT the other flange and to weld it back WITH SECCOND FLANGE ALSO TIGHT TO CYLINDER HEAD.......

don't forget to keep a garden hose "ready to spay" in case of metal droping on tub or fire....better to keep an helper with this "fireman skill"......

tim if the misalinement is slight you may be able to open up the bolt holes a little with a round rasp file ,
just enlongate the holes a little twards the misalignment to realign, if its way out you may need the torch to heat and bend,

PROBLEM SOLVED, I JUST USED A PRY BAR AND WAS ABLE TO FIND HOLE. IT TURNED OUT ONLY TO BE A HAIR OFF. IT'S FUNNY HOW ISAAC SAID BE CAREFUL OF A TUB FIRE. I HAD A TUB FIRE WHEN I WAS TACKING IT, BUT WAS SMART ENOUGH TO HAVE FIRE EXTINGUISHER HANDY.

I WANT TO THANK ALL YOU GUY'S FOR YOUR INPUT. I TOOK ALL YOUR ADVICE, BOSCH+4 PLUGS,BYPASSED GOVERNER,CUSTOM EXHAUST WITH SUPERTRAPP SILENCER(10 DISCS)AND GATOR TIRES. MY MACHINE IS RUNNING TIP TOP WITH MORE POWER THAN I EXPECTED. THE MOTOR DOESN'T BOG AT ALL. NOT EVEN WHEN TURNING ON ASPHALT WITH THE 6 PLY GATOR'S. IT WAS VERY TOUGH TURNING BEFORE THE EXHAUST MODS WITH THE GATORS AS MATT WARNED, BUT NO MORE. THE ONLY DOWN FALL IS IT IS A LITTLE BIT LOUDER AND IT EATS UP MORE GAS. ALL I NEED NOW IS THE BIGGER 2 BARREL CARB.
