I just recently tried to pull apart two plastic totes froze together to make portable duck blinds.When I hooked my Max II to them the engine revs up but the tires wouldn't break loose. Should the tires break loose, if so what problem should I look for to keep from having a towing problem in the future? I tried this on a grassy surface. |

The 14hp engine can't break the tires loose on most surfaces. The 18hp should turn them, slowly, most of the time. For a quick burst of power, "slip the clutch" by revving with the sticks in the neutral position. Slam them forward and you'll have some spinning tires!
When pulling out stuck ATVs or uprooting trees, I have put as much as ten feet of slack in the pulling chain to give me a bit of an advantage. 800+ pounds hitting the end of that chain at full throttle will really move some stuff. Let me guess... you don't want to be that hard on your machine? |

I've put it through some pretty bad stuff since I've owned it.Running over trees logs and its been in the water as much as on dry ground. This was just my first experience with pulling compared to my sportsman 500 |

Gary, try some belt dressing on your drive belt - if you use the spray stuff, take the belt off first so you don't get stuff all over. I use the liquid stuff from NAPA and put it on both edges with my finger. Belt dressing used regularly will extend your belt life and insure you of top performance all the time. Make sure your laterals are all the way forward to ensure they are fully engaged |
