I am seriously considering buying a back bench seat for my ARGO MAGNUM. The pics in the brochures, and on ARGO's site don't really show how it is mounted. Does anyone have a picture of where exactly the seat mounts to?? I could also really use some pictures of its positioning. The piece that the back side seats attach to is sagging, and would this mean that the seat would move around too??

Any help is greatly appreciated.

David,

If you've read some of my messages, you'd know that I got a back seat with my Argo. I hope we're both talking about the same thing here. The one I have is the one that looks almost exactly like the driver's seat, except it's mounted on the back, just in front of the outboard motor bracket, right?

Let me know if it's the same thing. I don't know how it would look like for a Magnum, but I would imagine that it's the same thing as for an 8x8 Conquest. I'll send you pics within a few weeks as soon as I get home if you're interested.

Dave
I have an argo 6x6 and I to needed extra seating space so I designed and built a rear bench seat that folds up to be put away when not in use.If your interested you can email me at greek107@hotmail.com and I will send you drawings and photographs of my seat.

Chris, yes, this is the one I am talking about. I would really appreciate some pictures of the seat itself, how it mounts and where.

Greek, I would also like to see the pics of your seat for your machine.

My e-mail is djhkeeso@rogers.com

Thanks a bunch!

David, will do. I will e-mail you some pics as soon as I get home (earliest is probably on the 20th of December, if you don't mind waiting that time).

From what I remember, the back part of the seat has a piece of metal that just "holds" onto the argo (slides into something or other) and there are spring-loaded pins on the front part, but please don't take this to be 100% accurate... Hell, not even 1% accurate. It's something that I see in my mind through a VERY foggy vision. HEHE! It's just something I remember but please don't ask for details too much, it's only to give you a slight idea. More details to follow as promised!

Chris, that would be much appreciated.

I am going up to the cottage for the first time since Thanksgiving (Canadian) on the 21st of December, when I will finally be able to run the ARGO again. I really hope their is lots and lots of snow while I am there, but only after I have been there a while. If I have to put the tracks on, even better. I know I have asked a few people how they put their tracks on, and I think I can do it much better this year than last. Do you have tracks for your ARGO?? If you e-mail them after the 20th, please also send them to my other e-mail account that is in my profile. It is insanecrash@hotmail.com in addition to my djhkeeso@rogers.com

If anyone else has pictures of their back seats for the 8x8 models, I would like to see them. Thanks

David,

It's a deal then. I'll send you pics, however many you want. HEHE!

Yes we have tracks and they're currently on the Argo as I speak. The only reason they're on is because we don't move the Argo anywhere. It's sitting in the trailer, ready for the snow to come down. My dad actually tried them out this year already in the snow. During that snowfall early in November, we had to move a trailer across our backyard and he didn't want to use the truck (damage the grass because of its weight), so we hooked the trailer up to the Argo with the tracks. My dad said that with snow, the tracks works amazingly well. His words were "the deeper the snow, the better!" All I can say is that I can't wait to get home and go riding!

Most likely I will have to send it to your other e-mail account because I doubt I'll get home in time. Like I said though, they'll arrive in your inbox, just be patient.

Chris, if possible, while you are at the picture thing, can you take a few other pics of your machine?? Thanks!

Yeah, sure, not a problem.

I have a picture of my machine with me riding it online right now. Just check my profile. It was taken on the trip up to the lodge late this summer. That's the same place we're planning to go this holiday, hopefull with LOTS of snow there!

But if you're like me, then you're probably looking for as many pictures as possible of Argos on the internet, right??
