I have a max II with an old Tecumseh OH160 series engine. I am going to look for a replacement 2 cylinder and need to know the shaft size for this engine. My current clutch is fine and I'd like to keep it and save some $$. I think the OH160's had a 1-1/8" shaft but I am hoping that they were 1".

The old engine is running and still in use so I'd rather not spend the time taking the clutch off and measuring it.

I haven't checked to see if I can get some calipers between the clutch and the case....just thought of that.

Any help is appreciated

Steven: I have one of those engines in my Argo. Your hoping worked.....it has a 1" shaft size; at least mine does. Do you want to sell any parts off of it? I need a carb, fuel pump and maybe a starter; but the carb for sure. Let me know. Oh...and you can't get the calipers between the clutch and case, I had to take my clutch off to measure it.
