I am a new owner of a Argo 8x8 Response and would like to get some feedback on how you hunters transport your rifle or shotgun on your machine. Moose season is very close and I have been trying to figure out the best option? I have heard some guys have made a custom front rack on top of the engine. I am not to thrilled about doing that? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

John: I mounted my Kolpin gun boot to the rail on the front seat so it is positioned in the back cargo area.. You have to fiddle with the angle and positioning. I mount it so the small end of the boot fits up into the corner where the rail meets the body. I then bungee it tight in this corner so it doesn't flop around on the trail. The only problem is locating a spot on the seat rail to locate the boot bracket so it doesn't bother your back when driving. It can be done. I've tried locating it everywhere else and haven't found a spot where it doesn't interfere with either myself or trees on a narrow trail.

I bought self adhesive window mounts from my local Sporting goods store. Make sure the glass is clean, and you get 100% contact with the glass. I used this the last half of moose season on rough trails, and had great success with it. I really like the fact that I have quick easy access to my rifle.
