I want to add an hour meter to my 2001 MaxIV. It's a standard mechanical type meter (connect between + and Ground). For the life of me, I can't figure out how to wire it. Do one of you have a wiring diagram?

It seems the ignition module has power all of the time. I have seen installs where the engine ignition module has power all of the time, and the switch grounds it. But on this engine, the ignition module is grounded to the engine block - so what do you do?

Hi bbbonner,
Got a MaxII and had the same problem wiring via the ignition.Tried all contacts and nothing worked correctly. Finally just connected it + and -directly to my 12volt terminal board set up via a lighted switch on the dash. The lighted switch helps me to remember to turn it off after riding.I also have a "kill switch" to my 12 volt terminal board to kill all power to accessories ,so I don't accidently leave any power to any accessory on!Good luck.
