Isaac, could you please reword your sentences
so some of us can understand them?
I have 2 miller welders 1 mig and 1 stick
and I am a fairly good welder of steel but I dont know where the lateral part of a welder is.
Apply melted pellet drop on snatch??? |

HEY HOWARD:
about welding your abs body forget the welding equipment that you mention...you should use a + 40w electric warming element welder...the one used to fix electronics ( it's a hand's stick 120 v tool, about 10" long with plastic handle and metallic tubular frame about 3/4" diameter where the hot element it's located at middle and a thinner point (1/4" diameter) used to melt soldering wire BY HEAT, NOT BY ARC.....you should "rub" this tool on afected area until get warm enoug to get soft...excesive heat will start dropping the abs body....not reaching the melting point and welding job will be weak...to practice your skill you can use a pellet plastic bottle or
used 1/4 gallon oil container.....then you can try on your lovely aatv....hope that this note will help.. |

Howard,
I believe the welder that he is refering to is a soldering iron. He uses the side of one of those single elecrode soldering iron (not the tip) to heat up the plastic body until it is soft. Then he uses a plastic pop bottle as a filler material to fill the gap which he melts with the soldering iron. Then heats these components up until they weld together. he uses a circular motion to smooth and blend the components.
At least this is my take on what he is trying to say. |

welding with hotair guns, soldiering irons or any other unimaginal procedures will just make the abs brittle.
the only effective way is to chemically weld it.
david berger is putting together an " how to weld abs" tape. |
