I found a Chaparral that's in pretty good condition and it's for sale $300 needs motor, that I have. Or should I spend the money on parts for my Terrs Tiger that I'm still in the middle of restoring????? Help I can't make up my mind..... |

For a collector the Terra Tiger is much better, for a user the Chap if it has a t-20 is much better

Check the underside of the Chap real well before you decide. The bodies are very thin ABS and most are badly cracked. Mechanically, it's a more reliable machine than the TT. Good luck. |

I ended up buying the chaparral the bottom was in pretty good shape except in one spot above the middle wheel, where it is broken open. My question is what goes to the to little shifters on the side tops of t-20 trans, as the only thing thats there is a lever and a rod sticking out of it help any pics... |

Congratulations for buying the Chaparral! Even with their faults, they're a classic machine and one of the best looking IMHO. From memory, the Chap had rectangular shifters instead of the diamond-type like most machines used and they were attached to a shift mechanism a lot like Attex used, with a simple pivoting lever hooked to the linkages. I looked through my old Chaparral pics and don't seem to have one of the shifting linkage- wish I could show you one. |

I also have a machine that would fit under this title buy a machine or buy parts for this one I will call it.I have a 1970 max2 and I was wandering if it would be a good idea to put soild axles in it so i can put alll the other track kit stuff on it and run snow track.Or is it true that the older maxs have thinner jack shafts and thinnner frame too.I know it have 40 chain instead of 50.what year max2 started being made hefter like the soild axles 50 chain thicker frame I know the new ones have really good axles ,but I cant come up with that much money,I think they are alittle pricey all the atvs argos too.I was talking to a dealer on a new argo frontier 6x6 650 and I gulp just like I did when I hear the price for the max2 850 wow. |
