has anyone had this problem? I almost bought a new coil for the front cylinder, swithed the back to the front and still not firing. turns out that the push rod had come off the rocker and was just laying there. put it back on and it fired up. this normal?

I've heard of bent pushrods before on the briggs, mostly on the kawasaki in the conquest though. Must be sticky valves in the guides.. the tolerances are close. Might need some upper cylinder lube additive to the gas, or maybe an oil additive. That's my guess. Problem might be varnish in old gas that sat untreated.
