I just bought a 08 argo 8x8 with plastic super tracks. I bought this machine to acces my deer stands for late season hunting. I can not make it up my bluff road with 10 inches of snow. When the going gets a little tough one track quits turning and the other keeps turning which pulls the argo off the trail. To give you an idea of how steap the bluff road is I can travel up it easily with a Bad boy buggie in the summer. Itook pictures and sent them to the dealer. He says the argo shoulg go up this hill with out any problems. Am I expecting to much from this machine? Do any of you use your argos on snow covered hills? Thanks for any help |

When the track stops turning, are the tires still turning inside the track side that stopped? I had that happen on another 8x8 Argo, needed a bit more tire pressure to prevent slippage. Unless something is wrong with the transmission, that should not happen. |

Lee, I don't think this is normal. I can see this maybe happening in over a foot or two of snow but in 10 inches it should just plough through. As Erich mentioned above, check to see if the tires are spinning inside the track. Plastic tracks are heavy and take a fair bit to turn them espescially if its really cold outside. If the tires are spinning inside, add some air to the tires. Make sure all are inflated equally to get the track running smooth. I have an old Magnum 8x8 with standard tracks and I run my tires at 4.5 psi with tracks. Start with that and see what happens.
It takes a lot of snow to stop an ARGO in most cases. |

How much snow to stop an argo,Iam looking to get a frontier 6wheeler but at times I have to go threw two feet or more snow????? |

How much, kind of depends the the type of snow, if it's the powdery stuff, it don't think it would make any difference, the heavier and "wetter" the snow gets, the ARGO will float less. If you have the wide rubber tracks, then it's a different story, I could see 3 feet, no problem. |
