I’m considering a 1997 Max II w/14hp. Vanguard engine purchased new by seller, no hour meter. Don’t know much other than it’s been kept inside with a cover and maintained. A few questions to the experienced folks from a person needing some advice.
Aside from the obvious, anything in particular on this to look for as far as problem areas?
Will this machine with the 14 hp motor be powerful enough for track usage?
It does not come with a roll bar and I would like to put one on it; any problems in doing so?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

14 works but it is low on power, may want to upgrade to a bigger engine, if you feel you need more power.

Just make sure you do not buy a machine that is worn out, unless that is what you pay for?

If the'97 Max that you are "considering" has hollow axles it would Not be a good candidate for tracks. Even with solid axles Recreatives sell a track prep upgrade on new machines to use tracks.good luck
