I am the new owner of a 96 MAX IV. It has the 20hp Kohler.
1. Can the drive belt be replaced without removing the clutch or pulley?

2. Can the bands be adjusted without removing the engine and the pedestal it sits on?

3. I put it int the water yesterday. It stayed completely dry. Steering was very difficult.
Should you run a different tire pressure when taking the vehilcle in water? It has the TICO 26" tires and I heard these a good in the water.
The vehicle was difficult to turn to the right and it barely creeped along. It did not move as fast as some that I have seen on utube that appear to be the same model.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

Yes the belt can be removed without removing clutch, but it is hard, first peal belt off lower pulley

Engine will have to be out to adj bands

Try a shift kit that richard relics.com has.

Have fun with your new machine
