Just bought a early 1970's scrambler with the 8hp electric start. Father has had one since new but is a pull start and have never dealt with electrical issues on them. Installed a brand new battery and when hooking up positive lead starter cranks even if swith is in off position. If in on postion it will start. wiring and solinoed are all there and appear to be correct. Any ideas?
