newbie here, got 2002 argo bigfoot in good cond.
put new batt. in winch and starter work great. chains need lubing has sat outside for about 1 year. talked to original owner (wifes cousin) said he serviced it on reg. basis before he sold it to guy it got it from (also wifes cousin). anyways, when put in reverse makes loud clicking sound like chain is slipping. when you turn sharp fwd or rev. does not turn like it should. runs fine in fwd. original owner said everything needs to be greased chain, alomites, etc.. any opinions, replies welcomed |

It could be the chain adjusters are stuck, lift the floor pans and pull up on the teflon adjusters, they will tighten the chains up, or, it could be the front set of chains could be worn to the point that they are rattling over the center floor crossmember. How many hours on the machine? |

yes to what Erich said... and check the short chains from the brake discs on the tranny to the jackshaft, There should be no play. |

I too have an 2002 Argo bigfoot that I bought new. It now has about 350 hours on it. I have the same clicking sound. First in reverse and now going forward. It turns out that I have worn bearings. To check, jack up the argo, rock the wheels and feel how much play there is on each axle. There should be very little. |
