I just got a Max IV that has recently been service and as I was lubing all the grease points I realized the tires were installed counter to the recommended forward rotation ie, tire "arrow" indicates best traction when the max is in reverse. the tires are Titan "True Power AT" 26 x 12's its a "V" tread. anyone have experience of have their been recommendations for mounting the tires opposite to suggested. - Sorry I'm interested in people with operating experience or those who have read the manuals ( which I dont have yet), not the usual, unexperienced "well I think" crowd

Thanks in Advance

The arrow shows direction for the best traction, which is opposite of how they are mounted on a Max. The Max needs them on backwards for swimming. If you mount them on the Max according to the arrow, you will have near zero swimming ability. The 26" tires are awesome in just about every terrain mounted just the way you have them.

Brandon, I am not familiar with Titan Tru Power AT 26 inch tires. Are they nearly the same as the Goodyear Super Terra Grips that I am used too? You are absulutely correct about the reverse rotation,OF COURSE. Also, do you know anybody who has tried Bosch Plus 4 plugs in an EFI Kohler 31 Avenger?

The Titans are the same tires as the Goodyear. I think the Goodyears are actually a little taller since they are not as square over the tread area. New Maxs come with Goodyears but they changed tires over the years.
Haven't done much with the +4 plugs lately. The EFI should be perfectly tuned using the plugs it comes with so I really couldn't see an advantage. You'd want to make sure those +4 plugs are recommended for that engine or be careful of the heat ranges. I wouldn't want someone to damage an engine that would cost some real money to fix!

Wow! new Avenger 700. Electronic dash--way cool.
Light to show that hand brake is on,heat guage and oil AND speedometer!!! hour meter, really looks cool. Did they cancel the pull out screen in front of the rad?? tell me not.A door in the intake screen (like the old Jim Shockey model, what a great hiding place. still no adjuster on the front chain. It is tight beyond words. Gonna love putting a new one of these on! Nice machine

It is one awesome machine. The new LCD display brings the Argo into the 21st century. The Avenger started out with an adjuster on the front chain and they took it off. Must have caused some of the chain issues. It would be a perfect machine if they could get away from the $18,000 price tag for the EFI.
