i recently bought a argo 8x8, it was sitting for several years i changed all my fluids and it is still running very rough. Also the left side wheels are not turning at all i got stuck in sand and the right ones where digging ruts,and left was doin nothing. if any one has any tip to what my problem if please let me know the is my first argo and i am very excited to have it running for wet season. |

The Argo uses a differential to steer. When you apply brake with your steering levers, a disc brake stops that side and the differential in the trans sends power to the other side. The sand you were stuck in did that same thing. The sand applied brake to the left side so the trans sent all the power to the right. Besides a design flaw by Argo, there is nothing wrong with your machine. Once you get some time behind the sticks you'll learn how to handle any terrain with the differential. When you were in the sand, simply apply brake with your steering lever to the spinning side. Example: Right side is spinning and left is not. Pull back your right stick to apply brake, differential sends power to left side. It works fairly well once you learn how the vehicle wants to be driven. |

that would make sense,however the atv has a very hard time making right turns. I have to get up some speed then pull the lever and it will only turn a quarter of a turn,and it feels like it is only doin that from the momentum of the atv not the power goin to the left side.it leads me to believe that ther is a pin or somthing not in place so they are not gettin power from the differential .Is it possible for only half of the differtential working? thank you for any tips and suggestions. |

What size of engine do you have and are you getting the same problem in low gear and high gear? |

I believe it is a 22 or 24 horse kohler, and yes has the problem in low or high.It also makes alot of banging/clanking noise from the chains under my feet i pulled the floor board and nothing is bindind.which leads me to believe the noise is just it trying to turn with the breaks on. thank you |

Chck the sprockets on the brake disc or idler shaft on the side. |

If it is the trans is that some thing i would be able to do myself or would i have to replace/send out to be rebuilt. The engine is still running very rough so once i finish that i will be able to lift it up and test it with the tires off of the groung . I only drove it for about ten minutes and then it stalled and i have been un able to start it agian . I think there if a hole in the plunger to the fuel pump so its not getting fuel. |

I had one with the the sprocket on the brake disc stripped so a new disc and it was good to go. You can get a transmission rebuild video. Sometimes I can rebuild them and some times I can't so I can't say based on not knowing your ability or tools. I just had a T20 give me fits and it should have been easy. |
