I had just finished putting the last bolt holding down the roll cage and was very ready to go on my shake down ride . I got to my area which is an island in the mohawk river in upstate N.Y. The island is about two miles long quarter mile wide and it seems that it is all mine .
I was blazing trails in weeds that were sometimes 8 and 9 feet tall, sometimes the brush would break and you would emerge into a clearing sometimes you could drive into a shrub and you would have to back up and go around.Well I have the new halogen lights, they mount flush and dont stick out persay as the head lights on any other max. The halogen lights are just held in by a plastic seal that fits around the light housing, then you pop into its hole in the body where it sits snugly. Not snug enough though, brush pushed the light into the body but the seal stayed outside then fell to the ground not to be noticed till it was too late and I could not find it anywhere. So I have a hole in the front of my day old max T900. SOB.

jim,
should have bought an ARGO they are not so cheaply put together. Your power train is pretty durable though so I doubt you will get stranded on that island.

Jim, the lights are pretty cheesy to say the least. I put a headlight cages over mine, I took them off my old Samari and bolted them on. It protects them from damage and looks kinda cool. I'd do something like that if I were you too.

It seems almost impossible that tall weeds could push the headlight out. It would have to be something like a branch poking it. The body will keep anything from touching the light. I think it's great that the lights push out. I have pushed the headlight out of my '99 Max II several times by running into a tree branch. Pushing it out saved me over $20 each time. If it can't come out, it's going to break.
The headlights do extend past the mounting surface. The old IV style came out a lot and the new comes out about half as far. The II's lights are as close to flush as they can get.
I find it funny that this is the third time someone has posted something about a Max that I don't think is true. It is always a stupid problem with a brand new 900-T. Jim, you have said you owned a 2000 Max IV with a twisted frame. Good imagination I think, but that's beside the point. Now you just got another new Max and have already began trashing it. Sucks to be you.

The guy had a problem with his Max. Let's help him out like several have done. Be it a Max, an Argo or something else it still is a 6x6 or 8x8 aatv.Isn't that why we are here reading these posts? Because we are interested in the hobby, sport, pastime, fun or whatever we want to call doing our thing with these machines....let us promote them. I remember when I did not know anything about anything. Maybe that is still the case but if you don't know something, ask someone who does. Then we all benefit from the answer. Besides, I though he said brush did it, not tall grass.

It does not completely suck to be me, max rules. what, you don't think that I twisted the frame or maybe I'm imagining it, I was not sure what you meant. Imagined or not R.I. is going to fix it under warranty. As for halogen light options on the t900 they definitly need to be secured better than how it comes from the factory. The suggestions that I saw here will give me food for thought. Oh ya R.I. is sending me a replacment. So it don't suck much and not for long to be me.

Maxium,

On the Max I once owned the lights never fell out but they shook badly when driving over rough terrain. I had to use clear silicone to make the lights secure.

Brandon,

Here is another Max owner commenting about his problems and then you but in running your trap. Hey Brandon do you have a Max IV??? Well then how is it impossible for you to know if the lights fall out or shake? You wouldn't know about the lights, chains, frame, bearings or any part of the machine because you don't have one. Why don't you go ask your mommy to buy you one so that you can comment from experience not what you told by Fred Sowerwine.

Ken

I did not say the lights won't fall out. I know they do. I ride these 6x6s harder and more often than most anyone on this board. If there is a weak point, I'm going to find it.
Jim, what a great company RI must be to send you a replacement. Not a defective part and not their fault. Try that with Polaris, Honda, or any other quad manufacturer.
Well Ken at least we have something in common. I don't have a Max IV, and neither do you! I bet there is not one thing I don't know about the II or IV. I could fix either with my eyes closed but usually I'm too busy riding them.
