Hi I got some info on the frontier by argo from there site and info from this discussion board.My question is what is the ground clear under the middle section ,and what is it under the chain rails.Argo says its 9 inches.I been looking in to it for what a machine needs to go threw deep snow it needs x amount under the tracks so they can paddle along.I also think that a machine needs so much of a track width to add up to ,so it can drag it bell along.I know I one of the heavest set ups ,but thats why I am asking you guys some many questions .I dont want to string a sale person along.I like to save up my money then buy it I am not a put it on credit person.I know at one time there was someone with great pic comparing the frontier to the max 4,but I cant find it threw the search ,so if this you or you have pics actions pics working in deep snow I think we would all like to see them. |

Chris, Look at Brandon's pics. That is about as accurate as you can get. You may have to give and take a little when comparing ground clearance between machines because non stock tires air pressure etc. can make a difference. Also are both machines being measured with the tracks on? I think the deep snow in your bush plus the 400 pounds that you mentioned requires WIDER tracks. The 12 inch tracks that you mentioned would have no chance. I note that even on the Escargotracks web site, they offer an Extra 5 inch extension over and above their 18 inch tracks for some conditions,but I have seen them in action and they are awsome if you can stand the flying debris! |
