I recently bought a used (93) Argo, and am replacing all the chains. It looks like a few sprockets should be replaced. Are these sprockets exclusive to the argo, or can they be purchase from industrial type venders I picked up my chains from Motion industries, and wondered if anyone has ordered them elsewhere

Does your argo have groved axles? if so, I have never found them except at places that sell argo parts. I bet a machine shop could make them.

Probably another one of those "proprietory" parts, only available through dealers. I had to go to a dealer to get the inner and outer bearings, even though it had an NTN number, the bearing shop could not get them, Argo dealer only after many phone calls. |

The closest dealer is a state away, so I was hoping the sprockets would be off-the-shelf pieces like the chain was. Dale, not sure if the axles are grooved or not, cant really see them at this point because someone let the unit fill up with rainwater and everything is pretty rusty.
Can anyone give me an idea of what bearings / seals and sprockets will run price wise?

bearings can be gotten at a bearing supply or from Richard here on this site. Seals you can get at Napa. Bearing run from $10 to $40 each depending upon where you buy them. Seals are under $10 per axle for both seals. You will probably want new cork flange seals too. I don't know the price of sprockets. If is an older machine I'd bet Richard has some take off salvage pieces. If you do a search for bearing I have posted in the past a place to get bearing and what they cost. I use the triple sealed bearings. I think I got them from Dalton bearing supply in Georgia. The local bearing supply did not have the right ones and acted like they could not get them. |
