Hey guys

I've owned a 98 Big foot since it was new. The machine now has 900 hours on it and it's still going strong. The one thing about a Big foot is while it's an argo there are somethings about it that are specific to a Bigfoot.
Like adding a track system to it. Has anyone had any experience with the tracks by bolduc? I was wondering how the performance was especially in the deep powder type snow. I assume you still have to buy a second set of tires and rims to do the conversion. What was the price to do the complete conversion and was it worth it. Thanks and I'll talk to you soon. Phill

Well you do need to change tires for the old Runamuck style if you use the standard 13" wide plastic Argo tracks, if you go to the super tracks, you need the wheel extenders too, to give the extra clearance. I use the standard tracks, so far, I'm still okay, I don't know 100% for sure if Bolduc's rubbers will fit an older BigFoot or not, will check.

I took a look at the site and it says they do fit Bigfoots but need wheel extenders. www.argorsbolduc.com/items.html

Thanks for the good info. I was on the bolduc site but couldn't get that info for some reason. I'll try the specific site you mentioned.
How do the standard tracks do in the snow? Do you have any experience in swampy stuff? again I appreciate your time. Phill

Looks like a lot of money for a unproven product, I wonder if they stand behind it, once they have your money. I sure you will have people all over the web telling you they are great, but do they really know? I think I would stay with the ARGO wide tracks, as mine has worked well over many years.

Phillip, I went by the picture and the one line below that they can be adapted, to me that means add the extenders, picture also shows they stick out past the body a fair distance, regular tracks are only about 2 inches wider than the body. "These tracks are available for all ARGO 8 X 8 (Magnum- Response-Conquest). They fit on Goodyear Runamuk tires (22"), fixed with Spacers. For 6 X 6 models (Big Foot), these tracks can be adapted to your vehicle". Swampy stuff, no. Snow, as long as it's not totally 3 feet of fluff, it will compact it a bit and ride on top.
Jeff, I wouldn't say it's an "unproved" product, ARGO itself now sells total rubber tracks in that size for all the new machines.

Hey Jeff

Thanks for writing. Thats one of the problems with a Bigfoot. As far as I can tell the wide tracks are not available for the machine. Unless I'm missing something. The standard tracks yes, but not the super tracks. Am I missing something? I appreciate your time with this, because as you say it is alot of money and I'd like to get it right the first time.

Yeah I saw that picture also and that the tracks stick out a good bit. I think thats ok as far as what I want the machine to do. It may change things alittle with my trailer. If you guys had your choice which wide track is better, bolduc or argo. Thats assuming the wide track is now available for a Bigfoot. Thanks for the good advice. Phill

I can't see why you can't put the Argo super tracks (18"wide) on a Bigfoot. All you need are the wheel extenders and a set of Runamuck tires. The wheel extenders just move the regular tires out about 6" to accomodate the track width. If it wasn't for the high price of the rubber track(Bolduc's), I would go with them. Somewhewre I thought I saw around $4K.

use the search button at top of page, type in "bolduc" in the first blank. Of course you can run supertracks on a bigfoot. Either rubber track will work better than supertracks. The only question, is there a rubber track to fit the bigfoot 25" rawhides.

Okay, here's the official version from Rejean Bolduc, e-mailed him last night and got the answer this a/m. To mount the 20" wide rubber tracks, they must be cut and a "hinge or joint" inserted, (they are originally only sized for 8x8), then add the wheel spacers and on Runamuck tires. Retail price $3,000.
For Roger: I think there may be clearance issues if you try to run the rubber track on Rawhides, only guessing though.

you're right, it'd be tight. Some guys made rubber tracks for bigfoot's years ago, but I don't remember them having cleats, which would exceed what little clearance there is.

Thank you very much. You answered my question. I figure if I'm gonna put tracks on this thing then I might as well go with the 20 inch ones. I just couldn't figure out if the whole thing would slide up under the BF. Now do any of you know anybody that'll give me the 3 grand to make it all happen?
