I have a 1980 8x8 Argo with the 16 hp tecumseh. I have found a Kohler Magnum 20 in really good shape. My question is did the Argo ever come with this power plant? And does anyone know if it would fit? I have done some basic measurements and it appears that there will be enough room.(I hope) The Kohler of course is an opposed cylinder motor and is a bit longer from center of shaft to end of head about 3" more than the tecumseh. Can I move the kohler around to allow for the clearance of the transmission? If so I think I would need a longer belt? Any help would be appreciated. It looks like it will fit but if anyone has first hand info this is always best.

ya, it should fit fine- its only slightly bigger than the 18hp that ARGO used for several years in the Magnum lineup

This is good to hear, physically it is the same size as the 18hp. Thanks for the input.
