HI looking for new tires for my argo. The stock tires are 20-11-8. I can no longer get these tires in runamucks. What would be a good tire for my argo to use with or with out tracks. I do not think I have enough clearance to go to a 22-11-8 with my tracks on. hope someone can help me out Thanks |

I think Richard Clark the owner of this site would have just the tires you need. The shorter 20-11-8 are not used much on the newer machine but Richard stocks a ton of tires for the older machines that use the short tires. Get in touch with him, I'm sure he could help you out. |

Ernie, I think you should be able to go to the 22" runamuk.The 20" were discontinued, but the 22" let me run tracks on the old Argo SS that came with the 20"runamuk, with no rubbing at all. |

Thanks for the info. I just can't see 22 fitting I can just get my hand between the track and the the argo body. Will have to look for some one where I live that has an argo with 22 inch and give it a try. Thanks again. |

Ernie,It is close but track should not deflect up into body.Anything other than a Runamuk probably wont mesh correctly with the molded surface inside the track.You should not have to run as much pressure to get correct track tension , so the overall height will be close to the 20". |

Ernie, your question has led me to ask what happens when a person puts 1/2 tracks on an 8x8 argo (say the front 4 tires) to the chain and sprockets. Doesn't this cause irregularties as the front 4 driving tires would have a greater ratation due to the tracks than the back 4 tire? |

Alf, you're most definitely correct on the tire rotation difference, although, on soft ground/snow/or ice it might not be all that bad |
