I am looking at buy a hustler with everything but a motor plus a spare hustler for parts and it is a spare at that. 500.00 For both. Anyway i was wondering can the plastic type body be repaired. The hustler i am looking at has a couple small cracks on the top half. Wondering if those can be repaired Tony.
If they are HDPE they can be repaired. There are several sources of information on how to do it on the web. The best way to get information is to do a search for hdpe kayak or canoe repair. There are several full length sites with step by step instructions on filling cracks to patching holes. Here is a link to get you started
you can weld polyethylene with a soldering iron. i used the back of a spoon to quick cool the polyethylene as i went. so go ahead and get them because repairs are easy enough. if you still feel you need some strength behind your welds just pop rivet some aluminum in there for strength.
