I have a Scrambler 340 racing 6x6. It currently has the friction disc setup for steering and no reverse. I was wondering if anybody has ever retrofitted a t-20 or other transmission to one of these machines? It isn't very fun pushing a 500lb. machine backward out of a snow bank. I would be interested in purchasing one if there is anything out there??? supertrucker84@cableone.net North Dakota

i think they rig scramblers with something that looks like a starter motor that engages to run it a few feet backwards when needed, maybe someone here has more info or maybe you can call myr clark of route6x6 to see what he might have.

I remember reading about that starter thing. I heard it didnt work well when steering it in reverse it would overstress it and strip the gears. I believe it was a factory option though.
