I blew the clutch on my 2001 Argo Bigfoot. How tight is the bolt holding it on. I would have to pull the engine to get an impact gun on it and I would rather not do that. Does it remove counter clockwise? Any help would be appreciated...

If you have a collar with tabs that bends down over the faces of the bolt, bend them up so you can get a socket on the bolt. You should be able to back the bolt out cc with a ratchet or breaker bar and a piece of pipe. What is wrong with the clutch?
Have you sprayed it with silicone syray to keep it moving freely, or has a part came flying out or rattling around inside? |

Disregard that last post I was wrong. I was breaking the clutch apart, and writing bolt instead of nut. I was going through a clutch breakdown. Put a large crescent wrench on the flats of the clutch and use a socket and ratchet or breaker bar on the bolt. Turn CC. |

At this point all I know is that the clutch is fully engaged and there are pieces of nylon floating around inside. I need to get it off and see from there. Thanks for your reply and I will be able to take shot of removing it towards the end of the week. |

Ok, I guess you did blow it. Remove and disassemble. They are rebuildable. Actually they are supposed to be rebuilt as part of service. |

I removed and disassembled it. It was pretty straight forward. One of the red blocks broke and all three 225 gram weights are worn. I ordered the 3 blocks, weights and springs. According to the East coast Argo Distributer, Bill Barnes. They have to be ordered out of Canada and I should have them in a week. A little over a hundred bucks for the parts and shipping. Thanks for your help on this one. |
