Most posts on these boards are followed immediately by requests for Pics. But very few actually follow-up with a pic, so I'll assume most folks don't know how. So let me write this brief tutorial for those wanting to learn.
Firstly, open your digital pic (or scan a photo) and save it in .jpg format to a known folder, such as, C:/My Pictures/Route6x6/. If you don't have a fancy graphics program, "Paint" (comes with windows under "accessories") will do just fine. Resize the Pic so it will have a width of about 10". You can check the size in Paint under "Image" then "Attributes". You can grab the tiny box at the bottom/right of the pic, and drag it to a smaller size. You can only reduce a pic in Paint, not enlarge, so save the original under a different name. Save the reduced pic (.jpg format).
Next, go to www.imageshack.us and open a free account. You will receive a link (in your email) to your new "personal" pic uploading site (remember, it's free and there's no limit on how many pics are stored there!). Hit the link then save the page that loads to your Browsers' "Favorites" list. Hit this link every time you wish to upload more pics.
Now you can upload pics one at a time by hitting the "Upload Images" button. After a moment, the screen will change and show a thumbnail image of the pic you just uploaded. To the right, you will see several different "linking" methods to this pic.
Open a second Browser and go to the Route6x6 Forum. Start a forum thread, or reply to an existing one (perhaps this thread can be used for "tests", if OK with Richard ??)
Now, click back over to the Browser showing your uploaded pic at Imageshack. Click once in the Box labelled "Friends"... http:\img31... etc). It highlights and you can "copy" (ctrl c) the "link". Then, back to the text-entry section of the 6x6 Forum Post screen, and "paste" (ctrl v). This will insert a link to the pic in the thread, which others can hit and view the Pic.
Example:
http://img381.imageshack.us/my.php?image=argo81vp.jpg
If you right-click on the pic, then "properties", you will see it's location, size (in pixels), etc.
NOTE: On other Forums, you can insert the link labelled "Forums" which will then open the pic automatically right in the Thread (Example: http://img209.imageshack.us/my.php?image=link23ah.jpg), but I don't see that option here.

Ahh! I experimented with the "Upload Attachment" Button (beside "Preview Post"), and just followed the instructions. It works perfect!... but is this Pic now linked to MY 'puter, or is it stored on the Route6x6 server?
I would assume (by checking the Properties) it now resides on the Route6x6 server.
So it appears we do not need to (and can't) directly link to pics stored at Imageshack.

Actually Mag, the pic above shows me headin' out in my wife's uncles Argo (set up for haulin' mooses out of the bush). I'm not sure what year it is (around 76 I think), but I know it's underpowered with the single-lung techumpsy.
This is MY current "6":
1970 +/- Roughrider. Just about to swap in a 1972 Hirth 23hp engine from an old Chapparell snowmobile. (Note the "factory" full-length aluminum skid pad)
Actually Mag, tomorrow (Sept. 25, 05)I'm on my way down to YOUR neck-of-the-woods, T.O., to "hopefully" buy this Argo(if it checks out OK). It's a 1979 with the engined swapped out for a 440cc Bombadier engine (probably from an early 80's Ski-doo Blizzard, or similar). I expect it should perform similar to an older Argo I owned 15 years ago (shown below in water). It had a 440cc CCL engine.
I plan to "freshen" up the Roughrider AND the Argo over the winter. Gonna' be a fun summer of '06!! ;)

P.S. I'm not far from you... Stratford (other side of Kitchener). Just 20 min's from the Argo factory. I used to work there around the time this pic was taken.
The guy on the far right (now the Plant Manager, I believe), used to take us out for test drives, at lunch, on "the hill". I'll never forget peelin' down that hill, loaded with 6 big guys, then just stopping before the bottom, hookin' a hard 180, then headin' right back up the hill (had to be close to 45 deg's)!! Sometimes, one guy would fall out, and we'd all laugh at him, LOL. Anyway, I got hooked on Argos right there. After a year of running the big gear-shavers, and the old turret-lathe, I was being "groomed" to be the Tranny Builder (built about 10 of them) when the recession of '81 "got me", (low seniority, groan). Otherwise, I have no doubt I'd still be there today. I'm a CAD guy now, and would have loved to work up to the engineering dept., but what are ya gonna do ;) (stupid recession! hehe)
