I have a '95 MaxIV. I think its time to replace the chains as Ive had to flip the idler/tensioner sprokets to underneath the chain they are so stretched! heh. I found a company in town that has all the idler sprockets (solid, cast not stamped), they have all the bearings you could ever imagine and they have all kinds of chain. I just need to know the factory spec lengths on the chains. I have front, middle, and rear chains. Are they measured in inches or do they count links? I cant wait to have it going on again!

If you have the original chains then you can count links. Really it shouldn't matter if they are original or not but some people will remove a link or two on worn chain which is hard on the sprokets and it would give you an incorrect count on the number of links. When you get the new chain with the same number of links lay them out side by side. You may be suprised by the difference in length! You can also consult a parts catalog or contact RI and get the number of links from them.

Front 122 links, rear 116 links, primary 52 links. You can use # 50 standard or 530 o-ring. Don't cut out links from old chains or put the chains on the other side of the idlers. You will tear up the sprockets quick.
