I just bought my second 6x6, a 1970 Sierra Trail Boss. Found it in the little nickel. Its all stock I think. 309cc single cylender 2 stroke. My question is, are the sticks supposed to be stiff? And what type of fluid do I put in the trannys? How mutch throw should I give when adjusting? What is the proper prosedure for disasembling the trannys to rebuild? It came with a spare motor and trannys. I plan to try to put the other trannys in my ATTEX as to better harness the 440. Thank you for your help.

operationaly thouse tranys are great, you get reverse by simply puling back, but they are also brittle, so wach the power, and use cair when driveing if you push a 440 threw it, instant revers could do a number on the machine or do a number on you,
see if you can hook up springs to come in when you get to aprox the revers starting position, this way you get some warning that you are entering dangerous area when your pulling the sticks back,

Thanks for the pointers. So are the sticks supposed to be stiff? They are pretty stiff, almost hard to get them to engage all the way. I am Extremely carefull with the Boss when stopping and reversing. I either blew the head gasket or burnt the piston with the old gas and oil. Repairs are going to be simple on the engine. What is the proper mixture of gas and oil? What kind of oil goes in the trannys? Could I get more power with a proper expansion chamber style muffler? Noise is not a factor because there are other ways to quiet the pipe down.
