I just installed a superwinch X2 on my vanguard. I connected everything according to the ARGO diagram, complete with the solenoid assembly, and circuit breaker. When I turned the toggle switch in one direction, the winch worked, but moving the toggle switch in the opposite direction,I got a clicking sound. I reversed the connection at the winch, and it turned in the opposite direction. Any help would be appreciated.

its hard to say without being able to put a volt meter on it to trouble shoot the problem. just check and recheck the installation connections to make sure you didnt make a mistake. other than that it will take a volt meter to see where the voltage is and is not going.

DAVE-almost 100% chance its a poor ground- works sometimes-others not-especially under load- I once installed a larger Superwinch which in the instructions required an internal installation of a piece of 14 ga. wire when it was installed on an ungrounded winch mount.I tried to skip that step and got the same symptoms that you have.
