Okay...........I have a 99 MAX II and I bent the front right axle. I am having a problem getting the wheel off to take a look. Am I missing something? I took the 5 lugnuts off but the wheel will not budge. Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks,
Chuck

Leave the machine sitting on all 6 wheels with the lug nuts removed like you already did, and try driving the axle out of the one wheel using a BFH and a 2x2 or other piece of lumber against the axle. This method works much better than beating the wheel itself with a hammer. Also spray with penetrating oil.

if above post dosent work for you try puting the lugs back on but only half way, then take it for a ride, remember to bring the lug wrench to tighten them once the rim lets go of your hub, this way you can get back home,
when you do get home and remove the rimm put a little grease on the hub and studs.
now your rim will come off the hub when you need it too.

Okay............I got the wheel off by driving it with the lug nuts 1/2 on. Thanks for the tip. Now..........how do I get the collar off? Any secrets that can help me get that accomplished and I should be set. Can I bend the axle back without taking the collar off? I saw a post somewhere about how to do this but the pictures (link) was not working anymore. Please help......

Once Apon A Time:
i was once embarest when pete shaired by my
"in feald fix"
on his web site, but since then it has bin used by many and so far without complaint,
so:
with a solid something wether steal or a 4"x4" post and a chaine, and automotive floor jack.
you put your vehicles side up on blocks and take off the wheal from bent axel, put chain over the axel near bearing and under the solid thing on ground, then place the jack on the steal plate or 4"x4" post with cup under the hub, leave a space and turn the other wheals so your bent axels hub rotates and wach for the points when it first contacts or when it leavs contact from the jack,
divide this in half and mark the hub with the low point, now with this down jack the hub up agenced the chain, it canot lift the jack so axels stratens, you give it some pumps and juge when it's tight, release and rotate the hub again, if it hasent moved yet give it more pumps and also a little more time before releaseing,
just increase a little each time and check your progress, it is posable to bend it the other way so be cairful, once you get it prity cloase to strait you can quit, after all cloase enoph will not ride bad at all.
i do it this way when i have to drive it in a few minets,
when there is enoph time i try to have another axel standing by with a bearing and flanget so i can pull axel with flanget and bearing and all! it's easy and quick to do this and then bearing can be removed and axel straitend laiter on a press.

There is a trail in my backyard. I live behind the Hospital. The trail goes up to the Orioles, if you know where that is. You can also get up to the Fireline Rd if you travel about 1/4 mile on the road. Not much but allot of fun close to home.
