I was wondering if anyone has experience with paints on the tub of a Max. I want to camo out my Max and was wondering if anyone has suggestions as to what kind of paint would hold up best. I realize it wont hold up real well charging thru the woods, but i am sure some will hold up better then others. Also i have a chrome roll bar that needs to be camo painted to, whats the best procedure for that. Thanks guys.

Hey jim,

For the crome roll bar, you can try using a roll of fabric camo tape, and just spiral wrap the roll bar with it. I believe that i saw some of that tape at either Gander Mountain or Cabela's recently. I do not know what to tell you about paints or how it would adhere to the polyethylene body. Probably not well! There are companies that make and sell como patterns in a wall paper roll type media, that can be stuck and or glued in place. You can try doing an internet search of the topic camo and see what is out there.

I did the camo tape job on my Max II rollbar. It worked great. It was about $3 a roll at Walmart, and took right at 3 rolls to do the job.

thanks everyone, for the info, I did use the tape you suggested on the roll bar........looks good. I am up north right now, with the guys, for the deer opener in the morning, just lost my ass at the poker table, so thought i would jump on the laptop, and check things out. I have a few people that are very knowlegeable with paints checking for me on what may be the best to use on the body, will keep you posted, and when its done, I will post a pic. The beast is outside, ready to pull some bucks out of the cedar swamps tommorrow, take care all, be safe, and good luck to all those hunting.
jim
